Both of these sunset images are from the same spot, just minutes apart. Crazy how quick the winter sunset goes. Though I don't want to say goodbye to the sun at 5pm, it really makes for a beautiful show.

Day 27, Photo a Day
As you may have noticed in past posts, I really enjoy visiting the Vernon Marsh. There are various entries to the marsh and each one is quite unique. This wildlife area on the east side of the marsh is quite wooded and just beyond the trees you will find the marsh and Fox River.

Day 26, Photo-a-Day
Like I had mentioned a couple days ago, I love to look at mature trees. They are all so unique. This one stood out to me with all the "squiggles" the branches make. It was also set against a flat, plain background, which really made it stand out.
Time to look forward to warm (stormy) weather!
I have attended many of these classes and they are great for anyone who either just wants to learn about weather or if you want to help your community. Network with weather professionals and enthusiasts and get to know those involved in your community!! (If you've read my book, this was my first step in getting involved with MidWestSSTRC!)

I'm usually on the hunt for wild animals when I am armed with my camera, but occasionally I come across a domestic animal out and about. Whether this cat is actually domestic, I have no idea. But he was just as interested in checking me out as I was looking at him.

Day 24, Photo a Day
Farms make up a lot of the landscape here in Wisconsin. But each and every farm has a different look. I love to photograph them and the land surrounding them. These hills and trees make for a fantastic backdrop for this farm.

Day 23, Photo-a-Day
I really appreciate mature trees, especially now that I live in a fairly new subdivision. I wish we had some around our house for the kids to play on and animals to climb. I love to look at all of the features they've achieved over their long lives. It would be interesting to actually be a tree with eyes and see all that has gone by in the many years these trees have lived.

Day 22, Photo-a-Day
As I was out and about taking photos today, I noticed a lot of black smoke in the sky south of me. Being the nosey person that I am, I drove as fast as I could towards it. It ended up being a barn fire in Mukwonago. I ran through a field in the sub-zero wind chills to get a few pics. This past weekend, Waukesha celebrated their annual JanBoree, which included an ice sculpting contest. This sculpture honors the recently closed-down Golden Guernsey plant with the double-Gs.
